Fun Outdoor Activities in Israel

Are you seeking unique experiences in Israel? Here’s an Israel outdoors itinerary including a few fun things to do in Israel!

Traveling to Israel was a very cool experience! Between the great meals, the nightlife and the laid-back vibes, there’s also a lot of cool things to do in Israel that also have to do with the great outdoors!

There’s not only the Dead Sea! I recently talked about Masada and Ein Gedi which are two interesting stops to consider in Israel, but let’s explore some of the crazy experiences you should try out while in Israel beyond the Dead Sea!

In this article, we’ll concentrate on Makhtesh Ramon area which is basically in Israel Negev Desert.

The best way to get to this area is by car! Renting your own car gives you the freedom you’ll need to make the most of this area and enjoy the epic views on the way!

You can find some great viewpoints along the road, and possibly some secret spots if you talk with the locals!

While we were in the area we had the privilege to experience the Bedouin hospitality with Salman at the Hidden Village. He shared stories from its childhood, we ate a delicious meal and we played with the kids! It was very interesting to learn about their lifestyle and ideology!

You can find more details about this experience here to organize your own visit!

Fun in Israel – Glamping Israel

When I heard we would sleep in the desert with Happy Glamper I was super excited! I love camping, and glamping sounded even better! Happy Glamper provides what you need for the perfect off-the-grid experience!

That night the wind was pretty strong – my tent collapsed on me during the middle of the night, but it was actually super funny! It got fixed really quickly and I returned to my super comfortable bed!

I would definitely recommend them! Learn more about Happy Glamper!

The initial plan was to go for a sunrise hike at Saharonim Mountain. The plan changed a little bit and we reached the viewpoint by jeep. Our guide Yotam showed us around and told us about the crater. Then we went to explore another spot, which was super pretty! His knowledge of the desert was captivating!

You should check out their tour options as they propose some epic experiences in Israel!

Our last activity in the desert was a pretty interesting one! We repelled down the cliff of Ramon Crater, which was super scary by the way! This activity was organized by Deep Desert Israel. If you’re a bit too scared you should still check out the view as it was absolutely beautiful!

You should also check out their tour options because they offer some cool tours too!

Preparing Your Trip To Israel

BEFORE YOU GO TO ISRAEL

☑ Book your flight: If your flight isn’t booked yet – check out the flights on Skyscanner or via Google Flights. My top saving tip is flexibility. If you’re flexible, you should be able to find a cheaper flight.

☑ Book your accommodation: I always use Airbnb and Booking.com. If you’d rather stay in a hostel, you should take a look at the options on Hostelworld. If you click on the Airbnb link and you don’t have an account yet – you’ll get a $30 discount on your first booking.

☑ Protect your cute face: Oh, you may want to protect your cute face with a travel medical insurance. I would suggest SafetyWing as they offer the best rates, especially for long-term travelers. Otherwise, you can also take a look at World Nomads.

☑ Pack the essentials: You can consult this list when it’s time to pack your bag! Do not leave without a universal charger, a power bank and your passport!

☑  Do you need a visa? If you aren’t sure if you need a visa, it would be a smart idea to take a quick look before you go. You can use iVisa – it’s super useful and easy to use.
